10 days ter:
We managed to build 10 houses in the Nation of Monsters. We made sure these were big shared houses, kinda like a mini motel from my world. For now, we need homes for as many workers as possible so that we can build more houses using their bor.
Another thing that happened in these 10 days is that we received a letter from Hana’s parents that said the following ^We are in the kingdom of Almaris, it’s pretty close to the monster nation. We found out about your whereabouts from Ayame and Fumiko. Be careful Hikaru, Hana. I have a request of you two, after you finish your main job there come to the Kingdom of Almaris to us, we have important information to give to the two of you. It’s urgent, we can’t wait for long^
This is what the letter said, Hana read it as well.
“Hikaru, what if they are in some sort of trouble? What if something happened to them?”- Hana’s voice got louder as she started to hyperventite.
“I don’t know, but we must make our way there. We will stay today and then tomorrow first thing in the morning we will leave and go to the Kingdom of Almaris. Sounds good?”- I stepped closer to Hana, and gently put my hands on her shoulders. Her breathing starts to come back to normal.
“Fine. I would have wanted to go now”- She looks about to tear up. I know that it’s her parents and everything but we can’t go in blind, although I agree with her, the sooner we go the sooner we know what is up.
“It’s ok. We will gather information from the capital today about the kingdom and then we will go there. We will need to be prepared in terms of food, information, and ways to defend ourselves while we are traveling”- Hana began to frantically look through her backpack for whatever supplies we have left.
“Seems like we used most of the food supplies for cooking. Maybe we can stock up from here. I don’t know how far the kingdom is, but from my estimation, it will be around 10 days until we will reach it. Maybe Sia can tell you more. If you have her why ask people?”- This doesn’t make sense to me either.
!Well, the kingdom is around 5 days away from us but the problem is that there is a special pce where 2 people can’t go on the same path, it has a curse put on it, it will try to separate people that walk together on that path. I suggest you two walk one at a time on the same path or go on separate paths.!
“What’s the deal with the separate path? Are there 2 paths instead of 1?”- If there are 2 paths and lead in the same direction then there must be something that is up with that nd.
!Indeed, something is wrong there, but there are 2 paths leading in the same direction but have different lengths. I already calcuted the optimal paths for both of you. Hana will take the long path and Hikaru will take the short path. I will expin why in a bit!- Why am I taking the short path?
!Following my previous statement I forgot to mention that there will be monsters on the path, there are also two benefits with this curse, the monster will attack 1 by one and won’t form groups, and the exp points that are dropped there are 20 times more plentiful or potent. It will be the ideal sport to evolve. To answer further questions that will arise monsters there won’t attack unless provoked, so you don’t need to worry about evolutionary sleep!
“Ok, but why am I the one on the long path and Hikaru the short one?”- Hana sounds confused at Sia’s words, I am confused as well.
!Hikaru will have to go on the short path because there are fewer monsters there and can fight more freely using his shadow hands and tendrils, while you will be taking the long path that will facilitate your fighting style. The secondary reason why I want Hana to take the long path is that she needs to get stronger and evolve further. She’s severely underpowered compared to you!
Sia finished talking, now I do understand her decision. I need to grind out my experience points there as well to evolve at least once.
“Hikaru, I am making you a promise right now. I will out of the other side stronger and more evolved than you, or at least until we have equal evolution stages”- I can hear Hana ughing mischievously in my mind.
“Well, won’t matter to me. We can use that as training grounds, but first, before we do that we must take care of the other lords and kings as well, we will be able to become demon lords after that. I am sure of it.”- I try to sound as reassuring as possible for her. The tension in her body seems to let up. She breathes out a sigh of relief.
“You are right, but after that letter, I am still worried about my parents Hikaru. We need to see how they are doing as soon as possible. I trust that we will leave tomorrow and then go through the 1 person path.”- Hana got up and sighed again. She began walking towards the improvised kitchen that was outside, right I forgot that we still had to cook for the remaining monsters. They got to building other houses now. They know everything that there is when it comes to building houses, but they still need food to work.
We arrive at the kitchen to see the monster chefs already preparing food.
“Nah, you 2 just rest today. You've done enough for us. You gave us enough information to have us be self-sufficient for a long time. We thank you, please just rest and leave the rest to us.”
Great we will have time to prepare then.
