Chapter 114: Evan (5)

Volume 1 Village Story Chapter 114 Evan (5)

Niya snuggled into Evan's arms, silent and still. Evan gently played with her long hair, coiling a strand around his finger, then releasing it, only to find another lock to coil and release... repeating the motion as if he would never tire of it.

"Are you done playing? Come and talk with me..." Niya said softly.

"What? You're saying you still have hair?" Evan said with a bit of mischief.

Niya angrily patted Evan's chest with her hand and said: "You're really hateful..."

In the darkness, Nia let out a soft sigh, her fingers lightly tracing over Evin's skin, leaving behind a faint mark.

"Aidan, is this not a sin? Our priests should dedicate their entire being to the Lord of Light, shouldn't they?" Nia asked somewhat uneasily.

Evan chuckled softly, lowered his head and gently kissed Nia's hair, saying: "What nonsense are you talking about? Love is great, even the Lord of Light wouldn't deny that, right?"

"Hmm, in the third volume of 'The Divine Canon', chapter 28, it is written that the Lord said: 'Love is humanity's greatest emotion, the source of mighty power, and the best gift I have given you. You must cherish it.' But... most clergy members don't get married, do they?" Nia said.

"Fool, you also say it's the majority, which means there are still clergy who get married, right? The Vatican has never explicitly opposed the marriage of clergy, right?" Ivan said with a smile.

"Hmm, but it doesn't seem to be encouraged, however I know that Archbishop Tony has a wife and his son is also working in the temple as the vice commander of the Temple Knights. And Archbishop Kenderin seems to have a close relationship with the previous Saint Dollie, although I don't know what kind of relationship they have, but I often see Archbishop Kenderin going to her place alone, Saint Dollie usually doesn't meet others, but he can come and go freely from her residence, it doesn't seem like there's no relation at all." Nia said.

At the mention of Kendra and Saint Dolores, Evan's hand playing with Nia's hair paused in mid-air for a moment before asking seemingly unsurprised: "Oh? You're not just making wild guesses, are you? It's not nice to make malicious assumptions about people."

Nia slapped Evan a few times, somewhat annoyed, saying: "I'm not talking nonsense, Archbishop Kendric almost every evening will go to Saint Dolly alone through the woods behind the church, I've seen it many times when I was walking by the stream outside the woods, you don't believe me, next time I'll take you to see."

Aiyin shook her head and said: "Forget it, it's not good if others see us, you've also been seen by him before."

Niyah shook her head and said, "It won't work. The stream runs along the edge of the forest, the terrain is very low, and there are many large rocks on top. People above can't see below, but people below can clearly see those above. Bishop Kendrin has never discovered me."

When Niya shook her head, her long hair swayed back and forth on Evan's chest, making Evan feel itchy. Evan gradually felt a surge of evil fire rising from his body, turned over and pressed Niya down, saying: "Don't say these anymore, let's continue playing for a while, we can't play when the sky gets bright..."

"Knock, knock, knock...knock, knock, knock..." Just as Nia and Evan were stopping in exhaustion, the door was knocked on, and a voice outside shouted: "Nia, it's Xixi, open the door."

Nina was startled and sat up in bed, asking somewhat flusteredly: "Is it Cecilia? What's going on, so late?" As she spoke, she looked at Evan who was getting dressed with some unease.

Evan smiled at her and nodded for her to go open the door.

Niyah hastily put on her clothes and grumbled for a long time before reluctantly opening the door.

Outside the door, Xixina was standing there in her nightgown, holding a candle.

Nia forced a smile and said: "Xixi, it's so late, what brings you here?"

Xixia looked at Nia with some confusion, then stretched her head to look behind Nia, seemingly not finding anything, before letting out a sigh of relief and saying: "Nia, are you okay? I seemed to hear a huge noise coming from your room, I was afraid something had happened to you, so I came over to take a look."

Niyah's face turned red in the darkness, fortunately the light was dim and no one saw it. She stretched out her hand and gently patted Xixi Na's shoulder, saying: "What's wrong with me? This is the Holy City, are there still bad people coming? Don't worry blindly, just now I just couldn't find something, I'm looking for things."

Xixi nodded and said: "Oh, you're fine, by the way, what did you drop? Do you want me to help you find it?"

Niyah hastily shook her head and said: "It's nothing important, it's already been found, you go to sleep quickly, it's very late, and tomorrow we have to get up early."

Xixina nodded and bid Nia goodnight, carrying a candle as she turned and walked into her own room.

Niya watched her leave, then gently closed the door, leaned against the door and took a light breath, looked into the room, but found that Aven's figure had already disappeared.

Niya searched for half a day before she was certain that Evan had left, feeling somewhat lost as she sat on the edge of the bed, muttering to herself: "He's always disappearing and reappearing, I don't even know when he left." Suddenly, she remembered the time they spent together earlier, her face flushing red. She lay down on the bed, closed her eyes, and a sweet smile spread across her lips.

Suddenly a heavy body pressed down on her, giving Nia a big fright. She opened her eyes to find Evan's smiling eyes staring at her. Nia was so angry that she pinched Evan hard until he was gritting his teeth before letting go. "You're still scaring me like this? Hmph, apologize quickly!"

Evan apologized repeatedly with a bitter face before Nia let him off.

"I thought you had left, how are you still here?" Nia asked.

Evan smiled and kissed Niya, saying: "I haven't said goodbye to you yet, how can I just leave like this?"

Niyah hugged Evan tightly and closed her eyes, saying: "Don't leave me..."

Evan whispered in Nia's ear: "I'll come again tomorrow, now I really have to go, otherwise neither of us will be able to get up tomorrow."

Niyah nodded obediently and let go of Evan, saying: "I'll wait for you..."

Evan kissed Nia once more, opened the window and turned back to Nia saying "Goodbye, my dear." Then he slipped out of the window and disappeared into the night.

Niya closed the window and stared blankly at the night outside, muttering: "Bad guys..."
