Chapter 112: Evans Story (Three)

  The Magician's Journey

Happy days are always short-lived, and as Evan got in touch with Nia more and more, he almost forgot his original purpose for coming here. Every day, he would think about what fun things he could do with Nia today. Originally, he found the dry scriptures and difficult-to-understand Holy Light magic to be a chore, but now they didn't seem so hard as long as he was with Nia - everything became interesting when they were together. Perhaps this was what people meant by "it's not about what you do, but who you're doing it with." With Nia, even the most uninteresting things became fun, and coupled with Evan's natural talent for learning Holy Light magic, he quickly picked up half of the beginner priest spells in just a month. Now, Evan could also use some small-scale light magic, such as simple healing spells, recovery spells, and several blessing spells - these were no longer a problem for him. In fact, Evan had even followed Nia into the residential district to do some simple treatment work for the poor, and life seemed to have gained meaning.

Today, Evan and Nia made an appointment to visit the patient who was treated by Nia last time in the residential area again. Evan waited early at the church gate for Nia's arrival. He looked around listlessly, thinking about whether he would take Nia to a slightly higher-end restaurant in the city to have dinner together after finishing today's affairs.

"Brother, you're so leisurely, where are you going?" Xilu's voice sounded from behind Aiven.

Evan turned around and saw his sister standing not far away with a smile on her face, dressed as a servant.

"What's up, Xi Lu?" Evan saw Xi Lu and knew that his sister wouldn't come looking for him without a reason. He had a bad feeling that his happy life was about to end.

"It's no good, I can't wear a veil here, so there are always many flies buzzing around me." Ciel said with some annoyance.

"Aidan smiled and said, 'Don't mind them, whoever is too much, just teach them a lesson, but don't be too obvious. If it's the clergy here, the best way is to avoid them, never show off your assassin skills.'"

Xi Lu nodded and said, "I know, don't worry, I can still handle these people. The real divine officials who want to get close to me will be more subtle and restrained, they won't be too excessive."

Xilu walked closer and lowered her voice, saying: "There's news that you have a mission. Tonight at 10 o'clock, the warehouse, an imperial envoy has arrived to give you your task..."

Xī lù said after rushed āi wén made a face, hugged āi wén, jumped and ran.

Evan looked at his sister's back and smiled, shaking his head, but his mood suddenly turned a bit worse, what was the reason? Evan himself wasn't quite clear either.

"Ayin, have you been waiting for a long time?" Niya came around from behind a pillar.

Evan looked at Nia with some surprise, unable to determine when she had gotten so close to him. Although the distance was such that Nia couldn't possibly have heard his conversation with Silu, Evan still felt a little worried in his heart. He secretly glanced at Nia's expression and found that today she seemed somewhat downcast. Had she overheard something? Although this possibility was extremely small, he always felt that Nia's expression today seemed somewhat off.

"No, no, we haven't been waiting for long, just arrived."

Niya let out an "oh" and didn't say anything else. The two of them just walked to their destination in this awkward silence.

After a long time, Nia finally couldn't help but say with some caution: "Actually... Aven, I've been here for a while."

Ivan's heart skipped a beat as he glanced at Nia, who was also looking at him. They both immediately shifted their gaze away from each other.

"Evan said: 'Oh, what did you see?'"

Niya hesitated for half a day and said: "She is very beautiful... Is she your girlfriend?"

Aiyin asked in confusion: "Who did you say?"

Niya said with some grievance: "The girl who was talking to you, she even hugged you!" After finishing speaking, her eyes seemed to have a hint of tears.

Evan heard Nia's words and his heart suddenly put down, then he couldn't help but burst out laughing. Evan finally suppressed the laughter and said to Nia who was being laughed at inexplicably: "Dear Nia, are you jealous?"

Niya said somewhat bashfully: "I don't have the qualifications to be jealous of others, don't talk nonsense."

Evan stopped laughing and pulled Nia's hand. Nia was shocked, wanting to break free from Evan, but her hand was tightly held by Evan, trying several times without success. She looked around in a panic and said hastily: "What are you doing? This is on the street, with so many people, let me go quickly."

Ivan smiled and said, "Nina, that girl is my sister, my own sister, her name is Xilu. In my heart, there's only one beautiful girl named Nina, where can I accommodate anyone else? My dear Nina, are you willing to accept me?"

Niya's face suddenly turned red, and she gently struggled free from Evan's hand. This time Evan didn't grab her again, but quietly waited for her answer.

Niya raised her eyes and glanced at Evan, then lowered her head and said: "I won't tell you!" Then she quickly ran forward.

Evan finally caught up with Nia, and didn't ask any more questions. He just naturally walked alongside her, the two of them no longer keeping a polite distance between them like before, but instead walking closer together, almost shoulder to shoulder. Occasionally on the way, Evan would hook his finger around Nia's, and Nia wouldn't refuse anymore, but rather responded with some playfulness...

Evan was savoring the happiness that belonged only to the two of them. Although they didn't say anything else, Evan knew that many things just needed to be felt with the heart, and words were already somewhat superfluous. The feeling of happiness made him a little dizzy, like being struck by lightning magic all over his body, numb and floating, unaware of where he was or what he was looking at, everything seemed so lovely. When helping Nia with things, Evan made mistakes several times and was scolded by Nia with a few white eyes.

When they parted ways, Evan whispered to Nia: "I'll come find you tonight."

"Our high-ranking pastor's residence is heavily guarded, you can't get in." Niya said with a reddened face.

Aidan smiled and said: "Don't worry, there's no place on the continent of Asia that I can't go to, including your room."

Niya gave Evan a white eye and didn't say anything, then turned around and ran away.
