The story begins on the sun-drenched beaches of Banaba, where two young boys, Pedro and Chalo, play a restless game with a coconut ball. Their play is interrupted by the harsh discipline of their Uncle Tinko, whose interaction with his friend Tako reveals a culture of bravado and playful rivalry. However, the lighthearted bickering is cut short when they spot a lone, mysterious vessel (waa) on the horizon—an unusual sight that sparks immediate concern.
