"How? Why?" Max exclaimed.
It was hard to hear Ebony's voice with that raspy breathing. "Fate. I'm being punished for my sins." She stated.
"I'm so sorry." Max felt sympathy for her. What did she do to deserve this?
As if hearing him, she began to cry. "He was just a little boy." She sobbed. "My magic......it was too strong.......I went too far.......the villagers........I'm supposed to be dead!"
Shadow attempted to open the cell, but it was locked.
"No, please don't. I will already be punished for even talking to you. Azazel.....he doesn't want me to interact with the outside world. Just leave me be. Please go, or he'll find you." Ebony begged.
"He sent us down here." Max corrected.
"He's just getting started, you need to get out of here as fast as you can! Far away from this hellhole!"

"Wait, we're looking for a friend. His name is Matthew, he's been traveling with.........Valerian."
A sharp gasp came from the skeleton. "She's dangerous! Her having someone is no surprise. She's not to be trusted. How is she with you?"
"It's a long story....but right now, she and our friend have been traveling alone....we've been told they were to be here. Please, if you know Matthew, he should be here. If you'd seen him. Please, just tell us."
Suddenly, the woman gasped like she saw a large spider, then she said. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't find him......it's too late."
Shadow tilted his head. "Wait, how do you know that? What magic do you possess?"
Ebony then whispered. "Foresight."
Max punched himself hard on the side of the head with irritation. "Come on, I know he's not dead. He can't be! Where is he, Ebony?" He demanded.
"I'm sorry, but if I were to tell you, believe me....my words will cut you deeper than a knife would. Just go by what I said and leave this place. You don't have much time - "
Max growled. "I'm NOT leaving without him! Tell me where he is!" Immediately, he could feel someone tugging at his arm, he whips around and sees Shadow, urging him to move forward.
"You need to hide." Ebony warned. "Leave now, quick! You don't have much time."
Max turned to Shadow. "Where?"
Shadow looked around, suddenly his face lit up. "Follow me."
