Under Liam’s lead the party was uing. Reyr barely got two attacks in before losing another 600HP.
The boss yelled angrily, gathering the bck liquid to shield himself.
“Scatter through the room guys! Everyone of you will be attacked by liquid puppets. Kill those close to you first.
Quickstep, see if you kill through them quicker to take some pressure off others.
Cye, only throw a bomb if I say so!”
“Yes, sir!”
Liam rolled his eyes as Cye was just short of giving him a military salute.
A momehe party was scattered throughout the room, looking at the wiggling bck liquid with tense faces. Slowly, liquid puppets stood up.
But to everyone’s surprise the puppets didn’t automatically attack the person closest to them. Their target sele was random, sometimes f them to cross the entire room.
This gave the party members some time to deal with the ining threats one by one.
Quickstep now uood Liam’s instrus, attag proactively and even killing puppets which didn’t target her.
Suddenly the boss’s skill wasn’t scary anymore. Even Balm didn’t find it difficult to kill the puppets, always fog on the closest one.
A few seds ter the dozens of puppets had all vanished.
“Good job!”
The party couldn’t help but celebrate. And this time Liam didn’t stop them as they had a few seds of rest while the whirlpool around Reyr grew towards the ceiling.
The room shook heavily, dust gliding from the ceiling.
“e on guys! Gather around Reyr!”
Liam’s voice barely reached his friends as they plied despite their doubts.
A moment ter rocks fell from the ceiling, all of them far away from the boss, posing no danger.
The bck whirlpool trembled, r angrily, sending chills down everyone’s spi soon reached a peak.
But suddenly it defted like ay shell, with the liquid colpsing into a puddle below Reyr’s feet.
“Attack!”
The party had no time to think as their leader urged them. Reyr was in a weakeate. No time could be wasted.
[-82!]
Liam watched his damage, doing calcutions in his head. He urged everyoo use their skills.
Terrifyingly the boss lost almost two thousand HP.
“Wow, did we do this?”
Only Cye was still in the mood to joke despite the tense fight, something her friends appreciated about her.
But they had no time to ent as Reyr began moving again. The nephilim fletched his teeth angrily, hag mindlessly with his spear.
Radiant Shield and Silver Bde knew what to expect. The male tank quickly blocked the on before taking a step back.
Immediately after, a bck liquid was thrown from Reyr’s hand, which Silver Bde blocked calmly.
[-18!] x4
Surprisingly the liquid still dealt damage through the tank’s shield. But Liam hadn’t said anything as Silver Bde was still the best didate to tank it.
However, the others showed stronger surprise than Bleary Mirage expected, thus he quickly expined:
“Get used to it. Iure strong oppos will deal some damage despite your dodges or blocks.”
“Got it.”
The others nodded, keeping this advi mind.
Meanwhile Reyr breathed heavily, his facreasingly grimag.
He smashed his on against the floor, pushing the party back with a shockwave.
“Don’t gather behind the rocks! Keep your eyes open and dodge! When you’re fident, try to get attacks in!”
Liam quickly shouted ands as fire and ice began raining down on the party.
Meanwhile the veteran was o Reyr again as if he had never left, swinging his sword.
Fire and ice crashed around him, but he evaded them with perfeent.
The other warriors po approach the boss as well. Their eyes involuntarily fell on Liam, skipping a breath.
“Such… perfeent…”, mumbled Quickstep. Even as an experienced pro she had seldom seen such a performance. Especially without training it beforehand.
The others noticed something amiss as well. When they looked at Liam, they couldn’t help but slow down as if in trance.
At the same time Liam was zoned in. He didn’t pay attention to the party, his single-minded focus on Reyr.
Watg Bleary Mirage, some of the party members were too distracted, eveing hit by Reyr’s skill. Only the high damage number woke them up, sending a chill down their spines.
Forturembled faintly; her breath hot. She realized that this erfeent for her video. tless people might analyze and learn from those perfects movements.
Maybe I should blur Mirage’s face? Let people guess who this mysterious pro is?
She couldn’t hold back her grin as she imagined a bright future.
A few seds ter Reyr’s skill ended. Liam came out of his zone, satisfied with his performance.
But when he looked at Reyr’s HP, he frowned.
“Guys, why did you do so little damage? Didn’t I tell you to attack while dodging?”
“Isn’t this your fault?”, mumbled Cye.
“What?!”
“Nothing! My bad!”
Liam shook his head.
“Whatever, just trate!”
While Liam was admonishing the group, he simultaneously approached the two tanks. Reyr growled, raising his spear and tinuing to attack.
At this point the rotation started from the beginning. After Reyr circled through his two skills again, he was soon down to two thousand HP.
Meanwhile the party members were still rather healthy despite taking a few scratches from the liquid puppets. However, with health potions and heals this posed no danger.
“Keep it up!”
“He’ll die soon!”
While the party members shouted encements, Reyr’s body trembled.
“Why? Why persist? Why am I so weak?!
I refuse to accept this!”
The nephilim had wide opeumbling backwards. He held his head, his face torted in pain.
At this moment Watchful Eye poiowards the back of the room, where Refresnim’s face was depicted:
“What is happening there?”
The others followed his finger, watg as the devilish face moved slowly, f a grin.
Whispers in a twisted, a nguage began to spread in the room.
Despite knowing that it was the a ngue of devils, even Liam wasn’t able to uand the words.
However, Reyr was obviously affected.
“Power? Of course I ower!
I want to remind everyone of the nephilim’s glory!
Take whatever you need!”
Reyr spoke with a crazy expression, his eyeballs rolling chaotically.
Suddenly the bck color on his body came to life. It pressed against his white wing. As Reyr gave up resista soon gaihe upper hand, dev the white wing.
Reyr froze in pce. For a moment silence fell onto the room.
But then a grin formed on Reyr’s face, vicious and mog.
“So, this is the power I have been longing for. e, I will show you!”
Reyr’s voice eerily echoed from the surrounding walls, sounding as if spoken in two nguages at the same time.
Cye didn’t hold baymore and attacked once.
[-1!]
“Again?”
“o attack.”, expined Liam. “We only o hold on for one minute!”
“Got it.”
Suddenly Reyr disappeared from his position.
“Watchful Eye! Careful!”
Fortunately, the vigint bodyguard already began moving. Even without Liam’s warniiced the bck shadow o him.
However, this wasn’t all. More shadoeared, beginning to attack the party at irregur intervals.
[Pyer Bloody Edge died.]
[Pyer Balm died.]
Radiant Shield was hit as well, losing a huge k of HP.
But at this point Liam wasn’t worried anymore. After all it was enough if a single person survived. And he was still there!
Reyr pulled a few more tricks, throwing bck liquid, raining down dark fire, putting pressure on the party. Even Quickstep miss stepped, dying as she was hit by the bck liquid.
But the deacks stopped after one more minute.
The party members panted heavily as Reyr reappeared in the room’s ter.
He looked emaciated, the bck color losing its luster. His face appeared weak and without energy, his skin wrinkly.
“Whyyy…”
Sadness escaped his throat, bundling in one mournful cry, eg through heaven and hell, bemoaning the fate of all nephilim.
At this moment the devilish face behind him grinned, showing signs of separating from the wall.
“So, this is it. I have been tricked!
NO! How dare you py with me Refresnim?!”
Suddenly Reyr straightened his body. The bck color was slowly being pushed back, giving him a half-holy half-dark appearance.
A cold, mog whisper could be heard, which even the pyers uood:
“Are you breaking our tract?”
Reyr answered with a swing of his spear. Suddenly blinding, holy energy erupted. Stinging, it forced everyoo avert their eyes as it shot at Refresnim’s face.
The bck liquid all over the room receded, leaving Reyr’s body. It surged towards the devil’s face before disappearing together with him.
When the party members opeheir eyes again, they only found Reyr dead on the floor, a geous white armor and with a pair of holy wings.
Cye looked at the boss with a puzzled expression:
“So, what happened?”
Liam gazed at Cye, speaking solemnly:
“You might see iure. A devil’s tract isn’t so easily broken.”
“That’s not what I meant, dummy! I wondered if we got the first clear?”
