Chapter 26: A Big Deal
This is a strange room. Altoria had never seen such a room, with smooth white walls adorned with spider silk tapestries that seemed to be one entity, and furniture styles that exuded the artistic beauty of the Drow elves. However, it was quite mismatched with the Sartrean-style pillars she saw when entering.
This led Altoria to think that the owner of this room didn't have any artistic accomplishments, and simply casually placed these things together without considering that they were products of different styles.
At the top, a strange iron chandelier and on the neatly wiped and spotless plain tablecloth of the long wooden table, the bright red candles illuminate this small room. Generally speaking, in this place surrounded by demons, the owner of the room should at least be a human with not too much taste.
"Good night, Your Highness." A somewhat rough voice sounded from behind Altoria, growing louder with the clattering footsteps that drew closer, filling Altoria with a bad premonition.
"It's actually a Minotaur!" Turning her head to look at the figure in front of her, Artoria couldn't believe it. A Minotaur wearing a tight black strange outfit was standing there. She had never heard that a Minotaur could speak, let alone build such a bizarre town.
"Yes, as you see." The Minotaur walked around Altoria and sat down at the other end of the long table in a large dining chair pulled out by two succubi. "Sorry, this hastily made tailcoat doesn't quite fit, so I may look a bit ridiculous. However, obviously I couldn't just wrap a cloth strip around me like usual and dine with you."
"I can understand." Altoria said calmly after a brief shock: "And although your clothes are somewhat strange, there's nothing laughable about them except that they're a bit tight."
"Haha, that makes me feel at ease." The Minotaur revealed a smile that he thought was very gentle, but somehow looked somewhat evil and said: "First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Mo Yan, and I am the master of this Thunder Cliff."
"It's a pleasure to meet you." Altoria nodded and said, "Although I think you've already learned my identity from your subordinates, since you've made such a formal self-introduction. So please allow me to tell you my identity as well. I am Princess Altoria of Carthage, currently without any fiefdom."
"Alright." Mo Yan looked at a button on his collar flying out and simply tore the entire collar open, saying: "I'm really not quite used to these aristocratic habits. Rather than waiting for embarrassment later, I might as well just be myself. I think Princess, shouldn't mind my crudeness?"
"You've done well so far, this is your place, everything goes as you think." Although she hadn't attended many banquets, all princesses had someone to teach them banquet etiquette, and Altoria apparently knew what to do at times like these.
"Well, I won't beat around the bush then." Moe Yan said, looking at Altoria who had done all the formalities perfectly but still kept a cold expression on her face: "I heard that Carthage was defeated in the war with Marlo."
"Failure is only temporary." Altoria's face turned even colder, her voice revealing displeasure as she said: "The southern region of the kingdom is still under our control, and we will make these invaders taste the bitter fruit of their wicked deeds."
"Of course." Mo Yan said affirmatively: "The powerful Carthage will not fail so easily, and the Mauro Kingdom, which is waging an unjust war, must be driven out of your land. But what I want to say is that if you receive some aid, won't the war go more smoothly?"
"We won't accept the aid of demons." Altoria refused, "Setting aside my personal abnormal hatred for demons, accepting their help would lead to other kingdoms on the continent accusing us of colluding with demons. This would put our entire kingdom at a disadvantage, and Marlo would gain an even better reason to attack."
"I'm sorry to have kept you talking with the creature you dislike the most." Mo Yan said somewhat innocently, "However, the problem you're worried about doesn't exist at all. Because it's not us who are providing you with assistance, but rather the village of the Sart people that is providing you with assistance."
"Are you referring to the people of Sault?" Altoria said with a hint of amusement. "Although they are very strong, their small numbers cannot turn the tide of battle. And as for material assistance, it's not even worth mentioning - the food and weapons, armor they produce can barely meet their own needs."
"My goodness." Mo Yan said somewhat speechlessly: "I thought that as a princess, you would be smarter than this."
"May I take your last words as an insult?" Altoria stood up abruptly, grabbed the long sword placed on the edge of the table and said coldly: "In that case, I have no choice but to challenge you to a duel."
"Please calm down, Your Highness." Lirius said with a smile beside her: "My master did not mean to offend you, please calm down."
"Put away your charm, Charm Demon!" Altoria glared at Lilith who was trying to mediate and said: "Your magic won't work on me."
"Sorry, it's just human nature." Lili's mouth pouted slightly in a somewhat aggrieved manner, her big eyes becoming watery as she looked at Mo Yan, as if on the verge of tears.
"Alright." Mo Yan patted Liru's butt and said with a smile: "Let me explain to the princess instead."
"Alright." Lillia wiped the corners of her eyes, where no tears existed, and said to Altoria: "What our lord means is that the people of Sault, with whom we have a trade agreement, can obtain weapons and equipment from us. And you can buy the equipment you need from the people of Sault, so there won't be the problems you mentioned."
"That's right, that's what I mean." Mo Yan nodded and said: "At the beginning, many arms dealers relied on such means to circumvent the arms sales ban and sell weapons to North Africa."
"What about your production and quality?" Altoria thought for a moment, feeling that there was no big problem, said: "If you want to make money from selling these weapons, then you need to have a large production volume. And the quality must also be guaranteed, I can consider your proposal."
"Bring in the weapon rack." Mo Yan, who had obviously made preparations earlier, clapped his hands and let the earth spirit that had been waiting outside the door bring in a weapon rack loaded with various weapons and several sets of armor.
"You can take a look at this quality." Mo Yan casually picked up a long sword from the rack of weapons and handed it to Altria, saying: "With such quality, we can produce three thousand swords every month, enough to arm quite a few people."
Altoria swung the long sword a few times, and then tried to bend it. Looking at the slightly curved arc of the long sword and the sharpness of the blade, Altoria could confirm that this was a good weapon. However, upon hearing Mo Yan's words, Altoria became somewhat worried.
"Three thousand per month?" Altoria said, somewhat incredulous. "Even a city that specializes in iron goods can't possibly produce three thousand swords of this quality every month. Are you certain you can do it?"
"We can certainly do that." Mo Yan smiled and said: "If your side finds that the goods we deliver are not up to this standard, we will not charge you any fees."
"Is that so." Altoria thought for a moment and said, "In that case, I will send someone to Erland to purchase weapons after I return. What is your price? And how much stock do you currently have?"
"A long sword for fifty silver coins, a battle axe and war hammer for seventy silver coins. I especially recommend this silver scale armor, its defensive power is very good, and it only costs five gold pieces." Mo Yan excitedly introduced: "As for inventory, we already have some in stock, and if you sign the contract with us, we will do our best to produce for your side."
"Then, please draft the contract." After hearing Mo Yan's words, Altoria felt that the price was reasonable and walked out saying: "I will sign the contract with you when I leave tomorrow."
"Are you not going to dine here?" Mo Yan asked Altoria who was about to leave.
"I've said it before." Altoria turned back to Moyan and said, "I abhor demons. Since the matter you wanted to discuss has been settled, I personally do not wish to stay here for even one second!"
"Alright." Mo Yan shrugged somewhat helplessly and said to Lirisi beside him, "Let the kitchen serve the dishes. It seems that we can only eat by ourselves tonight."
"Hehe. Does master need us to feed you?" Vivian said with a smile: "With our mouths, oh~"
"That's more than enough!" Mo Yan said with a laugh, sweeping Vivian off her feet and onto the dinner table after Altoria left. "However, I plan to eat you before eating dinner!"
