The mystery

The car roars softly down the road as we make our way to school, the sun rising behind us.

  “Kiss me again.” She demands.

“You’ve already asked twelve times! I’m not gonna kiss you anymore if this is what you are gonna pull!” I shout.

She pouts as she sinks into the carseats cushion.

“Not fair, you practically teased me with just five kisses as you’ve been driving.” She whines.

“Be lucky I did it more than once. Kissing while driving is dangerous.” I scold her as I turn my eyes back to the road, only to have her peck my cheek again.

“You are driving me mad!” I grunt.

“Mad in love?” She murmurs seductively to me.

“Oh, how I wish I wasn't.” I purr in her ear before pulling back into my seat and smirking when her face turns beet red.

“Dont try to tease when you can't take it yourself.” I laugh as I turn on my blinker and turn into the same convenience store parking lot.

As we get out and stretch, I watch the steady stream of students making their way into the gates and think to myself.

So this is the group where I will find this mysterious person Eva isn't supposed to meet.

Well, let's do the exact opposite of what Claire said to do.

With a gesture, we stride confidently towards the gate.

Lets knock this investigation out, I wanna know what Sute got accepted too. I have this itching feeling of some grand building, and a call bringing me to it.

I slide the classroom door open with a slam and stride right over to Sute sitting in her seat with a crazed grin on my face. I grab her collar with both hands and lift her up in the air, fear dominating her face.

“I had a little sin tell me you got accepted somewhere, and that I'd be interested. Spill it or I'm spilling your guts.” I whisper to her.

I pause for a moment, and set her down. My crazy smile is gone, but my eyes still look unstable.

I don't know what just happened. It's like something just took over me. I can't let my public image be ruined. I worked damn hard for it, no matter what I say, it was on purpose.

I brush her off with a smile, and her face is devoid of anything but true terror.

  “Who is she?” She whispers.

I turn, and look at Eva as she stands behind me, looking threatening to back me up. As if I needed it.

“My girlfriend. Now what is that place?” I command her to answer.

She lowers her head before screaming.

“Ikari is mine!” She screams. “No bitch like you can take him from me!”

She launches herself at Eva, and it all pauses.

Well it slows down. And I can see inside her.

Inside her is a swirling mass of pink, kinda like how you think lust would be.

“So that bitch meddles once more in my affairs. I think this speed is sufficient for me to tell you everything I've tried to hide, to keep your sanity from falling apart any further.” He pauses, and I hear music starting. Heavy percussion and guitar riffs in the background.

“Around eight years ago, the spirit realm and the mortal realm smashed together. There are gates between, but most cannot cross to our world. The only ones possible are the Sinful. Like you. I am the past ruler of the Spirit realm before the other seven sins plotted against my ruling, and cast me into slumber because they could not end me.” He pauses.

“They wanted to rule themselves and decided they would fight after the current one was out. There are the 7 deadly sins, though we aren't actually from God's stuff. We would be gone. Don’t fuck with that guy. You already know the seven sins. Lust, gluttony, pride, greed, sloth, envy, and finally Wrath. Me. The seven sins are rare, but there can be more than one Sinful for each sin. But throughout all of my knowledge, there has never been two wraths. I am the only one. I have slumbered for many years, and this is only what I could gather from listening to the news. You need to know Ikari, even when the spirit realm has opened to this world in the history books, I have never met another like you.” He stops, and looks me dead in my eyes.

“You are stronger than me. If you were a sin, you could singlehandedly wipe all races from existence with your full potential, if you hadn't locked your rage away. Ikari, I am the sin of hate. You are the embodiment. The government does not hide the sins existence, but does hide any incidents they cause. The place Sute was accepted to is an academy for the Sinful. You need to find it and go there. I wanted Sute to tell you, but if she can't, ask Claire. She will know. That should be it.” He finishes, about to speed back up time. He starts to dissipate before he turns back to me.

“One last thing. Wrath Sinfuls never let their ladies or men get hurt. It is the job of the powerful in the dynamic to protect. With that said,” he pauses, locking eyes with me before his flash red. “Kill Sute.” He says.

“Or just rock her shit. Either way. Protect Eva.” He commands, and I feel unbridled hate bloom in my body as he returns to my mind.

Time speeds back up, and my body moves before I think, though it catches back up quickly.

My forearm blocks Sute's hook, and I feel something cold sliding upon my face. In the corner of my eye, I see my reflection in the glass, and an Oni mask has emerged from somewhere, looking both traditional and futuristic.

Blue in base, fitting as blue Oni symbolizes Hatred or anger, but cold and intelligent. I chuckle softly, realizing the irony of the mask. Oni can also be protectors, and agents of punishment. The accents are red, showing the slight uncontrollable side of wrath. The mask is full face and locked in a permanent snarl. The eyes are cybernetic, and move whenever I look around with soft clicks and whirs. The mouth exhales black smoke when panting, and I'm sure there's more secrets about it.

Moving my gaze back to Sute, I see a pink tinted face behind her, faint like a shadow, with their mouth agape, mouthing the word “Lord Wrath.”

They snarl, and launch another attack.

She flips back before kicking at my side. I block with both arms before I grab her leg and smash her through a wall.

“We don't need to fight Sute! We have history, and any old relationship of mine is gold, even if hatred festers in me towards you!” I shout towards her as she staggers up from the rubble.

‘Does relationship mean you love me?” She perks up, smiling.

“No, I'm dating Eva.” I respond instantly.

“Then she must die!” She screeches.

Eva shakes as Sute lunges at her, her nails elongating.

I grab her hand in midair, and break her finger as I tear out her nail.

She wails and gnashes her teeth before tearing her hand from my grip and slashing my chest, spurting blood all over the floor.

I yell as she strikes me, and grit my teeth at the pain before I position myself against her, to corner her against the wall.

My mind is reeling from everything, the information and fight is making me lose my logic.

Her eyes flick from me to everywhere else, and launches herself where she could escape just outside of my reach.

She moves with speed I can barely react to, and scratches Eva's arm with a single nail before Eva staggers back, crying out. She clutches her arm, eyes wide as it bleeds out, staining her hand with blood.

It burns inside of me, as it thrashes. My body changes even more as I clutch my gut in pain from the burning. My veins begin glowing red, and everything goes black.

When I come back to my senses, I have Sute by the throat, pleading for me not to kill her as she bleeds all over, barely conscious.

Wrath is screaming in my head to stop, and that he will tear my body apart fiber by fiber.

“Enough Ikari! We honour the rules of the fight! She has yielded, you cannot kill her!” He screams.

I look around confused. We are nowhere near the school. We're in a mossy forest, with sunlight trickling in between the leaves.

  “Where are we?”
