A born killer

  Chapter 27 — Born Killer

Hirauka and Sayaka arrived at the battlefield. Flames licked the sky, explosions cracked the air, and twisted, crawling demons surged in every direction.

Without hesitation, they charged. Blades sliced through flesh, mana flared, and fire tore through the horde.

  But something felt wrong.

  Sayaka noticed first.

Sayaka: “Hirauka… these demons… they’re aiming for joints, nerves… weak points. They know where to strike.”

Hirauka: “Yeah. Weakening Demons. They instinctively target pressure points.”

Even then, they adapted quickly. Within minutes, their counters became instinctive. The battlefield turned into a massacre—the demons fell like wheat before a scythe.

  Then everything stopped.

A tall figure stepped forward through the demon ranks. The moment he appeared, the horde bowed.

God of Weakness: “Well… well… mortals trying to protect mortality. Cute. But you two? You are nothing before weakness itself.”

Sayaka: “Save the lecture. You can’t weaken us.”

God of Weakness: “Oh? Are you sure?”

He lifted a single finger toward Hirauka.

  God of Weakness: “Weakening Spell.”

A symbol flared in Hirauka’s eyes. His irises dulled… then went completely blank.

  The world shattered around him.

  Flashback

A young Hirauka ran along a sunlit footpath.

A little girl—Hanaka—chased a dropped flower onto the road.

  Hirauka: “HANAKAAA!”

  A speeding car hit her.

  He sprinted, but too late.

The driver stepped out. It was his father—a man who had always despised Hirauka’s mother and sister, who treated them as burdens. His expression was emotionless, hands wiped clean as if nothing had happened.

That night, his mother’s sobs tore through the house.

  Hirauka… snapped.

He killed his father with bare hands.

  His mother witnessed it.

But instead of fear, she knelt beside him, voice trembling yet calm:

Sanae: “Don’t worry, my son… you did not kill a man. You ended a demon.”

  Flashback Ends

Hirauka’s eyes regained focus. Tears streaked his face as he fell to his knees.

Sayaka: “Hirauka! What happened? Why are you crying?”

God of Weakness: “So that is your weakness… a memory soaked in blood. How tragic.”

Sayaka: “Hirauka… is he telling the truth?”

Hirauka slowly stood. His tears stopped. A faint, dark smile appeared.

Hirauka: “Yeah. He’s right. And… I should thank him.”

  Sayaka: “What? Thank him?!”

  God of Weakness: “T-Thank me?”

Hirauka: “Yes… you helped me remember.

Sayaka, you always asked about that day. Eighteen years ago… my sister died. Murdered by my father.”

He stepped forward, voice icy and controlled.

Hirauka: “And since you gave me that memory… I’ll give you something in return.”

  God of Weakness: “W-What?”

  Hirauka (dark smile curling):

“The reason I never hesitate when killing a demon…

…is because my first kill was my own father.

  I didn’t even think once.

Because I… am a BORN KILLER.”

  He laughed—dark, echoing, unhinged.

Sayaka froze. The demons trembled. Even the God of Weakness took a step back.

God of Weakness: “Y-Your aura… how can a human laugh like that?! You… you’re not human!”

Blue energy erupted around Hirauka. Six glowing axes formed behind him.

Hirauka: “Thank you again… my Indirect Well-Wisher.”

The axes shot forward. In a single instant, the God of Weakness was obliterated—sliced into dozens of pieces. Blood splattered across Hirauka’s face.

  He was still smiling.

Sayaka felt chills. This was not the Hirauka she knew. His aura was darker, heavier… almost demonic.

  Return to the Office

Sayaka stood in her cabin as Hirauka walked in.

  Sayaka: “H-Hirauka-san?”

Hirauka: “You look like you want to ask something.”

Sayaka: “Out there… you were different. That murderous aura…

And you—you jumped from Tier 3 to Tier 5 instantly!”

Hirauka (casually): “Oh? I hit Tier 5? Heh… that was fast.”

Sayaka: “Hirauka… everything you said… it’s all true?”

  He exhaled slowly.

Hirauka: “Unfortunately… yes. Every part of it. Including the murder.”

  Sayaka’s mind spiraled.

(So dark… his aura hasn’t settled. Is this the ring’s effect? He’s still not himself. I should… leave him alone.)

She stepped closer, hesitant, frightened. Unsure if the man beside her was still the Hirauka she knew.
