Chapter Five: Mistaken Emperor

"Why did that whole process have to be so long? It was all going to the same place, we had everything needed for the process to only take thirty minutes. Not three hours." Ryomen groaned. "But it was interesting to go through. Now we know what to expect for next time." Mao smiled. "So, how far away from the bookstore are we?" Ryomen asked, "About fifteen minutes away." Mao answered. As the two continued walking to the bookstore, Ryomen noticed ten men who kept passing them from a distance.

Five Chinese and five Korean. Strange to see them around this part of Osaka. Must be the Meiyu-kai. Grandma doesn't seem to notice them. I should be able to handle them, so I'll just have grandma go ahead of me if they try something. Ryomen glanced at the men. When the men began to approach them, Ryomen nudged Mao. "When those men come to us, stay calm and let me handle things. And when I snap, I want you to go to the bookstore and then go home. No questions, no looking back. Okay?" Ryomen whispered. "Okay?" Mao nodded.

"Would you look who we have here. One of the Black Emperors." "Hey, Gang. Are you sure that he is a member of Black Emperors? I never saw him before." "Of course he is, Kwan. Why else would he be with Ryu Akuzawa's little sister?" Gang said. "So, what does. Let's see, one two three, ten men need from two people, eh?" Ryomen stuck his hands into his pockets. "For Black Emperors members to get out of our territory. Now, we can get this over peacefully or forcefully." Gang ordered. "Are you including her? Or is it just me?" Ryomen nodded his head towards Mao.

"What do you think?" Gang stepped closer to Ryomen, "I think that the moment you include a woman in your conflict, you're not a fucking man. The moment you hurt a woman in any way, you lose all status of being one. So, am I looking ten bitches or ten men?" Ryomen grabbed the collar of Gang's shirt, pulling out his other hand, snapping his fingers. Before any of the Meiyu-kai members could stop her, Mao ran off to the bookstore. "You just signed your damn death warrant," Gang growled. "Boo-hoo. Gonna give me the names of the sorry pieces of shit I'm going to kick the fuck out of? Or am I getting those names after your boss comes to pick you ten up?" Ryomen smirked.

"I'll give you that luxury. You already heard Kwan's name. The others are Long, Wei, Lei, Qiang, Beom-seok, Geon-woo, Tae-joon, and Bong." Gang said. "I see. Guess I'll match ya. The name is Ryomen. And I'm going to kick your asses for free. You can pay later." Ryomen released Gang, cracking his knuckles. Kwan ran up to Ryomen, swiftly catching a strong right hook to his jaw. Ryomen grabbed Kwan's arm, repeatedly punching him in the chest. Hearing the sound of wood against concrete, Ryomen instinctively dodged the side where he heard the sound, getting hit in the shoulder by a crowbar by Long.

Grabbing the crowbar, Ryomen pulled him in. Quickly turning to take the bat to his back. Headbutting Long, Ryomen threw his elbow back at Bong. Glancing to the side, Ryomen pulled Long in the way of Beom-seok's knife. Picking up the crowbar, Ryomen swung it back at Tae-joon's temple. Three down, seven to go. Ryomen side-stepped Bong, kicking Bong in the chin. "Have you never heard the art of jumping?" Ryomen caught Beom-seok's arm, snapping it over his shoulder. "Geon-woo, Wei, Qiang, Lei. Go handle that kid." Gang ordered.

Geon-woo and Qiang rushed Ryomen, sending punches that barely missed when aimed at Ryomen's head. "Come on, have none of you ever fought on the losing end before? With just hands? Y'know, when scared or furious, you make more mistakes and aren't as accurate compared to when you're calm, right? I can see that ten grown ass men can't handle a bit of shit talk and rage-baiting mid fight." Ryomen swept Qiang's legs, stomping on his neck. Ryomen delivered a strong right to Geon-woo's nose, grabbing him by the jaw. Ryomen whipped Geon-woo in front of him to block Wei's bat strike. Dropping Geon-woo, Ryomen ran up to Lei. Dropping to his hands, kicking Lei in the face with both feet. Standing up, Ryomen caught Wei's arm, slamming Wei into the concrete.

"And that's nine. Phew, you need better boys to perform a jumping." Ryomen stretched. Feeling the sharp pain in his chest, Ryomen slapped his ears to stop the ringing. Looking over to see Gang holding a 9mm New Nambu M60 revolver aimed at his chest. "Can't beat me with fists or up-close weapons? Gotta resort to a gun, huh?" Ryomen spat out some blood. "All a part of this world, kid. There's no such thing as a fair fight. Only those who walk away from the fight." Gang prepared his next shot. "Oh, I know that. Just wonderin'. Do you think a round to the chest is stopping me? I already suffered that three times before. A fourth ain't putting me down." Ryomen kicked up the crowbar, throwing it at Gang.

Gang dodged the crowbar, looking back at Ryomen. "Hah, did you really think I would stand there and take it?" Gang laughed. "I'd be embarrassed if you took my distraction." Ryomen bolted towards Gang, stabbing him in the chest. "Because you left me around everything your dawgs had. You think I wouldn't pocket a knife?" Ryomen stomped on Gang's knee, pulling his arm back. "Now then, English or Spanish?" Ryomen took Gang's gun. "Wh-what?" Gang coughed up blood. "English or Spanish, jackass." Ryomen kneed Gang in the face.

"En-english." Gang held his face. "Take the pistol whip, sorry fucker." Ryomen whipped the handle of the gun to Gang's temple, making him fall. Just in case. Ryomen shot Gang in the balls twice, tossing the gun away. "God, I need an ice pack...along with tweezers and bandages." Ryomen stuck his hands in his pockets, making his way back to Mao's house. Yep, grand uncle was going to die today. Ryomen chuckled.
