Chapter Thirty: Shared Suffering
"Yes." Han Jin nodded and said.
"Perhaps...the puppet you created is too fragile." Sasori said.
"Haha......" Han Jin smiled: "Can a puppet made of paper and a puppet made of tree demon be the same?"
Sasou and Xian'er's eyes suddenly lit up, and Mo Xinke was even more spirited, waving his hand and saying: "You get out of the way!" As soon as he finished speaking, he released his Dou Qi, and a huge sword swooped down towards the tree demon.
With a loud crash, a deep sword mark three inches long appeared on the corpse of the tree demon. Although Mo Xinkou's power was much stronger than Han Jin's after releasing his aura, he could only do this much.
Mo Xinke raised his long sword once again, just as Xian Ni'er suddenly spoke up: "Wait a minute, have you thought about how to make the puppet?"
Han Jin's mind reacted quickly, and he immediately understood Xian Ni'er's meaning. A disappointed expression involuntarily appeared on his face. The tree demon's body was so tough that it would take a long time to carve with a small knife.
"Let me try." Xanier walked over slowly, crouched down in front of the tree demon's corpse, took out a dark green bead from her spatial ring and placed it on the corpse.
The emerald green beads emitted a soft green light, casting the tree demon in a pale green hue. The withered body seemed to have gained some sort of vitality. The sword wounds left by Han Jin and Mo Xinkou on the tree demon's corpse were healing at a rate visible to the naked eye. Slowly but surely, green buds began to sprout all over the tree demon's body, growing longer and longer until they transformed into tender green branches.
"Alright." Xanier stood up and handed the dark green bead to Han Jin: "This is temporarily lent to you." Xanier emphasized 'temporarily' heavily, obviously this bead had a very important significance for her.
"Hmm." Han Jin took over the pearl, and a refreshing feeling spread from his fingertips, leaving him stunned.
Mo Xinkai cautiously struck out with his sword, and the tree demon's body was no longer as tough as before. This one sword easily cut the tree demon into two segments.
"Better hurry up." Xanier said softly.
Mo Xinke discovered that the tender branches growing on the tree demon's body had withered signs, and he didn't hesitate to operate his sword like the wind, cutting out more than 20 wooden blocks in one go. Of course, he wasn't a machine, and his calculation ability wasn't that good, so the wooden blocks were uneven in size, some big and some small.
When the green moss on the tree demon's body had completely dispersed, it regained its former tenacity. Mo Xinkuo chopped at it a couple of times, but seeing that he couldn't cut through it, he stopped his hand and gazed at Xian Ni'er instead.
"Shouldn't this be enough?" Xanthe asked.
"Ah, it's about right." Han Jin nodded.
"I'm ready, can we go?" A low voice came over, Han Jin turned his head to look, and Qiuli was standing at the stairs entrance. Her expression was very gloomy, she probably hadn't recovered from yesterday's blow yet.
"Alright," Xanthe replied.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going with Kiri to find the Morgan merchant group, at least to figure out what they mean. Xanier said slowly: "Sasou, you go sell our magic crystal later, we're running out of money."
"Alright." Sasuke paused for a moment: "Sell everything?"
"Hmm, anyway, he doesn't need fourth-tier or higher magic crystals for now. When he needs them, we can go hunt magical beasts again."
"Him?" Sasou looked at Han Jin, among the few of them, only Han Jin showed crazy enthusiasm for magic crystals, not even letting go of Hei Ya's magic crystal.
"Let's go," Xanthe said to Kiri, aware that she had misspoken and trying to change the subject.
"What am I supposed to do?" Mo Xinkai asked.
"You stay here and see if there's anything you can do for Raphael."
Just then, Michelle dragged a metal bucket out of the kitchen with great effort, and steam was still rising from it: "Raphael, this is for you."
Han Jin looked and said: "How... how is it cassava?"
"We've voted and decided that before we strike it rich, this is all you're getting," Xanthe said with a grin as she walked to the door.
"This isn't fair, I haven't voted yet!"
"We've already passed it unanimously, your one vote is meaningless now." Sasuke said with a sarcastic tone.
"Alright, alright, I can eat less later on, but I want to eat the same things as all of you!" Han Jin shrugged his shoulders. In fact, he knew that his appetite had become a heavy burden for everyone else. His earlier outburst about it being unfair was just a joke. Moreover, now that he could absorb the energy from magic crystals, his dependence on food had decreased significantly. Of course, if there was enough food to go around, he wouldn't need to be modest, but when economic conditions didn't permit it, they could only make do.
"What we're eating today is also boiled yam!" Michel said discontentedly, he still didn't understand Han Jin and thought that Han Jin was a glutton who loved to eat but hated to work.
Han Jin's words were stuck in his throat, and his face was slightly red. In fact, from a value perspective, even if Xian Ni Er and others ate meat every day, they couldn't compare to Han Jin's consumption of cassava. Whether or not they could "share the sweetness" in the future was still uncertain, but Xian Ni Er and others had already achieved "shared hardship".
Xian Ni'er and Qi Li went to find the people of Morgan's merchant group, while Sasou took the magic crystal to the market. Han Jin didn't rush to eat, but instead sat in a chair and seriously began carving. He was making a military token using wooden materials, which had very strict requirements and was quite complicated. Because after the token is released, it's just an enlarged projection of tens or hundreds of times, so the limbs must be carved clearly. If one's cultivation is deep, it wouldn't be this complicated. "Sprouting beans into soldiers" is the highest realm of military tokens, vividly depicting their power. The problem lies in that Han Jin's cultivation is still far from it.
In fact, in that world, Han Jin had little interest in the military symbol, and he even thought that the military symbol technique was the most useless among the 36 techniques of Qimen. When encountering a strong opponent, a fire could burn him to ashes, and when encountering a weak opponent, a simple thunder curse could knock down the opponent, why bother releasing the military symbol? A method that is neither high nor low!
After all, the military order is used to scare people at most, but now Jin needs something that can scare people.
Han Jin's master once commented on Han Jin: Having a brain, having insight, having patience, being able to endure loneliness, being good at introspection, and having unlimited prospects.
Han Jin sat quietly in the chair, his body motionless, only his wrist moving lightly, a small dinner knife in his hand gleaming with a soft light. His eyes were calm and warm, his expression serene and smiling. It's said that when a man is serious, he looks the best, and at this moment, Han Jin was just like that. Mo Xinkai was originally not a person who liked quietness, but he was infected by Han Jin's aura, and he stared blankly at Han Jin's every move, never making any trouble.
Time always flies quickly at this moment, when the sun is low in the sky, Xian Ni Er and Qi Li walked in one after another, their expressions were not good-looking, apparently, things are developing in a bad direction.
Xian Ni'er opened her mouth to say something, but seeing Mo Xinkou's silly expression, she couldn't help but follow his line of sight. Her heart suddenly skipped a beat.
Some people think that appearance is insignificant, what's important is inner beauty. This statement has a bit of an acidic tone. At this moment, Han Jin gives off a refreshing feeling like a spring breeze. His focus, his smile, and his calmness are all dazzling highlights that catch one's eye. If he were extremely ugly, his charm would be greatly discounted.
