Chapter 43. The Skeleton Golem

He landed back on the ground and immediately threw his spear toward the skeleton archer.

The spear he threw crushed one skeleton archer’s head and continued forward, embedding deeply into the ground.

Subedei quickly picked up the rusted sword that a skeleton warrior had been holding from the ground and began killing the remaining skeleton warriors, splitting their bodies in half and cleaving their skulls down the middle with the sword.

At that moment, one thought crossed Subedei’s mind.

“The spear is much better than this.”

“In the end, only one skeleton archer is left.”

While thinking this, he looked at the skeleton archer and noticed an arrow flying toward him.

Subedei quickly raised the rusted sword and split the incoming arrow in half.

He immediately gripped the rusted sword tightly and ran toward the skeleton archer.

The skeleton archer began retreating, moving away from Subedei.

However, Subedei quickly caught up to it and swung his sword strongly from behind, splitting its body in half.

As the rusted sword cut the skeleton archer in two, it broke into several pieces and fell to the ground.

Subedei saw the skeleton trying to crawl toward its lower body to rejoin. Without hesitation, he stomped down hard with his foot, crushing its skull.

  [You have killed “Skeleton Warrior.”]

Subedei looked at the bones lying on the ground for a moment before throwing the broken sword in his hand onto the ground.

He quickly turned and walked toward his spear.

Pulling the spear from the ground, he continued forward without looking back.

Several days passed like arrows flying through the air.

Subedei had almost become used to staying in such a place.

Although it was foggy every day, the place looked incredibly beautiful in the evening.

When the fog disappeared, the dead flowers and grass would grow again, making the place look like a paradise where humans could live.

Birds chirped, and the sounds of rabbits running could be heard.

However, when the fog rolled in, the flowers died, the grass withered, and the land looked like a deserted wasteland.

In the morning he fought skeletons, and in the evening he watched the beauty of the stars in the sky.

  Everything here was the opposite.

In the morning the fog would appear and the skeletons would roam, while in the evening the fog would disappear and the skeletons would vanish.

After several days here, he still had not encountered the boss monster even once.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Subedei did not think much of it. It was normal for the boss monster not to appear for several days.

If lucky, he might encounter it that day or the next. If unlucky, it could take several weeks.

It seemed he was walking in the right direction, because he kept encountering more and more skeletons along the way.

Now he was encountering at least fifty skeletons at a time.

Subedei fought these large groups using one or two of his skills.

At this moment, the fog had already rolled in, and Subedei walked with his spear resting on his shoulder.

He had never once quietly passed by these skeletons.

  He always fought them.

Within the fog, a massive black shadow walking caught his attention.

Seeing this, Subedei smiled and tightly gripped his spear as he charged forward.

While running, he immediately used two of his skills.

[Your weapon is covered in mana, increasing its power by 20%]

[Your mana-using skills increase by 10%]

The black shadows noticed Subedei approaching just as he was about to attack them. Within the fog, the blue flames in their eyes glowed brightly.

Subedei raised his spear and swung it sideways, splitting several skeletons’ skulls down the middle and sending their bodies crashing to the ground.

[You have killed “Skeleton Warrior.”] …

At that moment, the skeletons surrounded him.

Subedei ignored everything and continued attacking with his spear.

Suddenly, something whistled through the air from among the skeletons and flew toward him.

He quickly turned and raised his spear to block, causing an arrow in front of him to break and fall to the ground.

Seeing this, Subedei ignored it and immediately resumed attacking.

Meanwhile, arrows continued flying toward him from several directions.

  “Damn.”

“Looks like there are many archers this time.”

  He muttered softly to himself.

However, he soon began fighting again with a crazed smile.

Dodging arrows flying from all directions, he raised his spear and brought it down, splitting one skeleton in half.

Then he swung the spear strongly to the side behind him, splitting the skulls of dozens of skeletons and sending them crashing to the ground.

Subedei dodged another arrow from behind and swung his spear upward from below, cutting through the skeletons surrounding him from their legs up to their heads.

Some died, while others lost their legs and collapsed onto the ground.

Ignoring all of it, he continued swinging his spear while stomping on the skulls of fallen skeletons before they could rejoin.

In the end, all the skeleton warriors had fallen, leaving only seven skeleton archers surrounding him from different directions.

Subedei quickly ran toward the nearest skeleton archer.

That skeleton archer fired an arrow at him and began fleeing.

Subedei easily dodged the arrow, caught up quickly, and pierced its skull.

He killed the others just as easily and finally threw his spear at the last remaining one, knocking it to the ground.

When everything was over, he pulled his spear from the ground and began walking forward again.

“This time there were quite a lot.”

While thinking this as he walked, he did not notice the bones lying on the ground behind him beginning to move and merge together.

Unaware of what was happening behind him, Subedei suddenly stopped walking and began wiping his spear.

Behind him, the bones connected and merged together, forming the shape of a massive monster.

Its head was formed from several skeleton skulls, and two blue lights suddenly lit up in its eyes.

Its back was hunched, and it had thick, medium-length arms and legs.

The monster’s body continued growing larger as more bones on the ground joined with it.

The surrounding bones began connecting to it faster and faster.

Finally, a skeleton monster more than ten meters tall was formed.

Within the thick fog, its body appeared even larger, with eyes like blue flames and a body like a dark shadow.

Subedei finished wiping his spear and walked forward as if nothing had happened.

Suddenly, the ground behind him trembled as if shaking, and even small stones began bouncing up and down.

Subedei turned around in surprise and stood silently for a moment.

Finally, a bitter smile appeared on his face as he said,

“This must be the boss monster.”

He immediately raised his spear and threw it toward the giant skeleton.

The spear whistled through the air and struck the giant skeleton, but it did not cause even the slightest damage.

He was surprised for a moment before quickly jumping and catching the spear that flew back toward him.

The giant skeleton looked at Subedei, the two blue flames in its eyes burning brighter as it raised its arm and struck down.

However, the attack of such a massive skeleton monster was not fast enough.

Still, its strike was powerful enough to create a gust of wind that briefly cleared the fog.

Subedei easily dodged it and ran along the monster’s arm while slashing with his spear.

His attack could not damage the giant skeleton, but he did not mind.

“A monster with such a huge body can’t possibly be perfect,” he thought.
