"Open the door quickly.”
Subedei, startled for a moment, hurried to open it. A woman appeared in front of him. She looked about his age, with long black hair and large bright eyes.
“Why is your whole body covered in blood?”
“And why are you holding a spear while staying at home?”
“Whatever it is, quickly carry my things inside from outside.”
“Let’s talk about it after I come in.”
After finishing her words, the woman went inside and immediately sat down on the sofa in the large room.
Subedei quickly spoke back to her.
“I’m not a little kid anymore, so stop lecturing me.”
“And don’t act so spoiled—carry your own things inside.”
“So arrogant.”
After saying that, he gave a bitter smile and quickly walked out of the house. From behind him, it seemed his sister was saying something.
“You…”
Subedei ignored it, quickly shut the door, and went downstairs.
As he went down, his whole body throbbed with pain. He stepped outside, looked at the things she had brought, and sighed.
“Ah, that’s a lot.”
“It’s like you’re moving in for good with how much stuff you brought.”
He began carrying her things inside one by one. After going up and down countless times, he finally managed to bring everything in.
Breathing heavily, Subedei went back inside and immediately lay down on his bed. Because he had moved too much, his whole body started hurting intensely again.
At that moment, his sister came and sat beside him.
“Don’t lie on the bed with those bloody clothes.”
“Judging by how injured you are, you went into the Tower, didn’t you?”
“I already had a feeling when you weren’t answering your phone.”
Subedei listened silently to her words.
“Looking at you now, it seems like you left the Tower and then went back in, right?”
Subedei turned his head and lay facing the other direction. Seeing this, his sister seemed angry and spoke loudly.
“You idiot, do you know how dangerous the Tower is?”

“Don’t go into the Tower again.”
“Got it?”
Knowing how stubborn her younger brother was, she softened her voice.
“I don’t want to lose you.”
Subedei stopped looking at her and remained lying silently, facing away. Seeing that he wasn’t saying anything, she spoke again.
“I’ll quickly make you something to eat.”
“Go wash your face and shower. And change out of those bloody clothes.”
After saying that, she sighed, stood up, and walked toward the kitchen. Subedei ignored her words and, lying there, fell asleep.
Suddenly, he heard his sister shouting and woke up with a start.
“Didn’t I tell you to get up!”
Subedei slowly opened his eyes, ignored what she said, and closed them again.
Seeing that he was ignoring her, she became angry, quickly walked over, and smacked Subedei hard on the back.
A loud smack echoed, and Subedei quickly sat up, clutching his back.
“Aaaah, it hurts!”
He looked at his sister, stayed silent for a moment, then muttered under his breath,
“It’s probably red.”
Seeing this, Mandukhai quickly said,
“What are you mumbling about?”
“I won’t tell you again.”
Hearing this, Subedei slowly got out of bed and walked to take a shower.
Of course, he wasn’t quiet. He kept grumbling to himself as he walked.
“I could’ve dodged that.”
“But I let myself get hit because I was thinking about her—what a kind heart I have.”
He went into the bathroom, closed the door, and began to shower. Cold drops of water fell on his body, and he gradually woke from his drowsiness.
If one looked at his back, the spot where his sister had hit him was red in the shape of her hand.
After a while, he came out bare-chested. Hearing the bathroom door open, Mandukhai immediately said,
“Come eat quickly.”
“Your food is getting cold.”
Subedei ran straight to the table and sat down. Seeing him eating bare-chested, Mandukhai said,
“Can’t you at least put on a T-shirt before eating?”
Subedei ignored her and began eating. As he happily ate, he thought to himself,
“This is really good.”
“How long has it been since I had home-cooked food?”
Watching him eat, Mandukhai asked,
“What, is it tasty?”
Hearing her, Subedei didn’t say what he was thinking. Instead,
“It’s just normal food.”
“I’m only eating it because it’s me. One day, I’ll learn to cook something really good.”
Hearing this, Mandukhai quickly looked at him and said,
“Then stop eating.”
She reached out her hand to take his food. Subedei quickly grabbed his bowl and hid it behind him.
“Alright, alright, it’s delicious.”
Hearing that, Mandukhai smiled and began eating as well.
But Subedei didn’t stay quiet. He added from behind,
“When you’re hungry, any food tastes good.”
Hearing this, his sister’s smile disappeared, and she quickly said,
“I keep telling you, then stop eating.”
Subedei ignored her and quickly finished his meal.
“Is there more?”
Hearing this, his sister looked at him and said,
“There is, I made a lot of—”
Before she could finish, Subedei quickly said,
“Give me more.”
Mandukhai, hearing him, took his bowl and added more food.
Soon, the two of them finished eating and sat at the table to talk.
“You went into the Tower, didn’t you?”
Hearing her words, Subedei nodded. Seeing him nod, Mandukhai sighed.
“Then don’t go into the Tower again…”
She was silent for a moment before continuing.
“Even if I say this, I probably can’t stop you.”
“But at least be careful.”
Subedei was silent for a while after hearing her words. Then he quickly smiled and nodded.
“Of course. I’m very strong. There’s no need to worry.”
