Anibeli's POV
"Evasive maneuvers. Fire tube one, macro cannon to fire at will." Anibeli spoke, and she watched and felt as her ship twisted away while returning fire at their foe.
She saw the Repentance begin to fire its prow weapons battery open up along with their small Salvo. The laser lanced out, and struck the cruiser on the prow. The cruisers shields flickered to life, then faded just as quick.
From estimate readouts, thatvdid very little. Repentance will been to go broadside, leaving her far more vulnerable. She was the slower ship, while Anibeli's was almost twice as fast and quite a bit more maneuverable, as well as a few hundred meters shorter.
The cruisers torpedo failed to lock, but I trade, hers failed as well. The cruiser yawned to her side and opened up with her broadside. They were at extreme ranges for her guns, and they pitched into a dive, and maneuvered to get a clear shot with their battery.
They were closing, while the Repentance plinked away at range. She had similar range to the cruiser, and was acting as the primary opposition for the moment.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
As the Repentance distracted, she shifted the Shrike (NOW THE NAME OF THE DESTROYER ;) into an attack angle. Her engines burned hotter, and they sped up.
The cruiser twisted and rolled, getting their guns on target. The shrike opened up with both tubes, and pitched down as the cruiser fired. Her macro cannon fired as they stabilized, and they got clipped off aft.
Their shields glowed an unearthly purple, and a voice called out.
"Shields at 61.009% and rising."
They extended, maneuvering to dodge additional fire as the Repentance came in to broadside. Once they gave their bit, they pulled up and extended.
Anibeli watched as the torpedoes struck, followed by their macro cannon and a barrage of lasers from the sword. She read the estimates, and smirked. 62.1%.
She slowly released tension from her body, and smirked slightly. When she saw that traitor space marine, she was just shy of panicking. But, if this was the extent of his skill in being a captain?
"Make for their prow, full speed. Harry then as we go." She ordered.
The Shrike began to turn, then burned her engines. They began to overtake the cruiser. Their stream of fire hadn't halted, and after a while, they pulled ahead.
Suddenly, the cruiser pulled hard, and dragged her prow towards them. It released a torpedo, streaking out faster than expected.
"Evasive maneuvers!" She barked.
They twisted hard, but the abnormally fast torpedo locked on, and struck the Shrike towards aft.
Alarms blared as, with a crack of unnatural purple lightning, the shield blew apart. The ship shook, and Anibeli grimaced.
"Extend, ahead full emergency speed! Avoid that bastard twisting fully for a broadside." She ordered, scowling. "Message for Repentance: Avoid their prow, unknown torpedo varient. Faster than expected. Begin hara-"
With a pop, and a pulling at their sheets, a void appeared in the bridge. A millisecond later, 3 giants stood in the middle of the bridge. Her eyes popped wide, and as she stood, looking at a helmet with its unnatural face, she roared into the ship's comms.
"BOARDERS ON THE BRIDGE!"
