Vol.6 Ch.373 The Revelia Daughters are Mages

There was an eerie silence, when the Dark Elf and Duke Aric stared at each other. It was also like a Western showdown, except instead of guns, it was swords and magic, and instead of a dust desert town, it was the middle of a opulent ballroom.

Aric wanted to press Rya, but he worried that he would sound desperate. His eyes narrowed at her and then his gaze went to Rianna, who was standing next to Yuliana.

'Once I'm done with this stupid Dark Elf, I'll deal with my sister-in-w's insolence.'

Rya had the smirk, "So, your daughters nothing compared to your golden boy?"

Aric's head snapped back to Rya, "Yes! And you murdered—"

"So is that all women are good for, Duke?" Rya cut him off and taking a wide birth around him, "Just breeding?"

He scoffed, "No, but it's the woman's job. And my three oldest seem to be failing at that."

Aric's face twisted into an ugly snarl. He was losing his temper and this was what Rya was waiting for.

"So you are tell me that none of your daughters are capable of being a better fighter, noble, leader, or even..."

Rya's azure eyes glowed as she blinked right behind Aric and whispered in his ear. "A mage?"

Aric nearly jumped out of his skin as he swung around to find that the Dark Elf had teleported behind him.

'How did she?! G-Get ahold of yourself, Aric! You're a Duke, you can't lose it here!'

The Ladies of the Court were just as surprised as Aric, that the dark elf had Time Space Magic. It was just a rare to find a healer as it was a time space mage and Rya was both. Whatever reservations some of them had about the dark elf was quickly diminishing, while others were just becoming more cautious and wary. At this point, Rya had solidified over 75% of the dies to her side. Now the dies were curious, just how strong was this mysterious dark elf truly was.

Aric's guards didn't know what to do. They could take on a elemental mage no problem. But this was something completely different, they couldn't get a read on this woman and that was dangerous.

Rianna and Yuliana were just enjoying the show. This was exactly what they were hoping for. Rya had just shown them, what she could do and the girls were excited. They couldn't wait to see how she deals with him.

Rya had a smug smirk, when she saw that Aric was caught off guard. "You seem to be stressed, Duke. Are you feeling okay?"

The Duke's face twisted in fury as he took a few deep breaths, "I-I'm fine!"

"Hm?... Well that's not going to st," Rya said, with a small shrug.

"What? What are you talking about?" Aric said, getting a bad feeling.

Rya blinked away again, which caused Aric to look around in a panic until he spotted her behind him once more, but these time she was ten feet away. Some of the dies in the front row tried to step back from the instantaneous teleporting dark elf, while those in the back, who had a better view, were awed by the show.

The Duke's heart was racing as he feared that not even the Sorcerer's Syer could stop a Time Mage's spells, but his left hand still gripped onto it tightly as it was his only hope in protecting him from her. He cursing himself for not grabbing his teleportation ring from his room. It was something he was going to remedy if he made it out of this situation alive.

Rya then paced around Aric, like a predator waiting for the right moment to pounce. "Your evaluation of your son's talents is quite high. Sure he was a Wind Mage, but a below average one from what I witnessed. I would even go so far to say, that he is weaker than the average mage at the Royal Academy—"

"You know nothing about what makes a great mage! You may have all these affinities for magic and healing, but that skews your ability to judge other mages!" Aric shouted.

Rya just smiled. "On the contrary. I know more about who is gifted in magic and who is not. I don't have a bias. My power has not given me blindness. In fact, it's allowed me to see past the fa?ade that mages put up to try and make themselves seem more important. But what Marcus is, is a coward. He ran away hoping that the hobgoblins would do the dirty work of killing Prince Quinus!"

"Your a liar! He did not run away! And he was going to become the greatest Wind Mage in the Kingdom!" Aric shouted.

The crowd went wild. Rya had struck a nerve with the Duke and the nobles were eating it up. Sara, Jemma, and Eleanora didn't know how to react. The trio had never seen their father lose his cool. They just stood there and watched, like everyone else.

"Marcus was nothing more than an arrogant brat who had everything handed to him! Because if you did have an eye for talent then one of your five daughters would have been named the next heir to the Divalo Domain! But you ignored them because they weren't born with balls in between their legs! You saw them as nothing more than property and marriage material for your allies!" Rya said sternly as she circled him again. The Revelia sisters were confused about why Rya was talking about them in a good light. It made no sense to them.

Aric was angry that she was belittling his only son. Even though she was closer to the mark than he would like to admit.

"You spin all the lies you want! My daughters are there for me to do as I please and if they were talented then maybe I would have named one of them as the future Duchess! But they haven't shown me anything!" He shouted back.

Sara, Jemma, and Eleanora could not believe that their father would say something so callous about them. Sara even shed tears.

Lydia and Cra were too young to understand the words their father had just said. But they were still hurt to hear him talk like that.

Rya had Aric right where she wanted him and as she was walking around the perimeter of the circle she came by the three oldest Revelia daughters. Sara had tears in her eyes and she didn't realize Rya was standing next to her.

"So, Sara's is talentless, huh?" Rya said sarcastically towards Aric as she grabbed the oldest Revelia daughter's left wrist and lifted it up shoulder height.

Sara was emotionally numb at first and she thought she would never feel anything ever again. But then her injuries that were inflicted on by her husband were healed in an and then a warm tingling sensation began to flow through her left arm and towards her spine. This brought Sara out of her depressed state and noticed Rya holding her left hand out.

"Huh!? W-What are you?... Oh?" Sara gasped as a shiver ran down her spine. After that the tingling sensation started to flow outward from her spine and through the same arm that Rya was holding. The palm of Sara's hand glowed slightly as she let out another gasp.

The crowd went silent and they could not believe their eyes. Sara had an ice aura forming around her left hand and in a blink of an eye, a rge jagged chunk of ice spawned out of nowhere and floated a couple inches from her hand.

Sara didn't know what was happening, and her mouth dropped open when seeing the baseball sized chunk of ice hovering just over her palm. It was hard to expin but she felt an connection to the chunk of ice and as her hand moved to the side the chunk of ice floated along with it.

Rya smiled at Sara, who was fbbergasted at the magic coming out of her body.

"Is this a dream?..." Sara whispered under her breath.

"No... It's real," Rya said softly before looking back at Aric, who put on his patented stoic face. But his right eye was starting to twitch.

"I guess having an uncommon element mage vein is cssified as talentless in your book. Aye, Aric?" Rya said sarcastically and with a smirk. She let go of Sara's wrist, but the chunk of ice still followed Sara's hand.

"Well... I..." Aric tried to speak. He was not prepared for this and he did not know how to respond.

Rya was still smiling and then she spoke again. "Oh yeah. She also has an Elite level Mana Vein."

Aric's twitching right eye only got worse. If he knew that his oldest daughter was born with an Elite-level Mage then he could have drained the coffers of anyone seeking his daughter's hand. Or maybe he would have made her the next heir of Divalo instead of his son.

"Oh, wait! There's more!" Rya said and looked at Jemma and Eleanora who were staring at Sara in shock and awe.

Jemma's eyes started to tear up as she saw that her older sister could use magic now and she had never seen anything like it before.

The Chunk of ice began to melt a little before falling on the marble floor once all of Rya's Mana was used up from inside Sara's body. All the eldest daughter of the Revelia family could do was look down at her hand praying that it wasn't a dream. For the first time, hope had returned to her and she didn't know how to react.

Rya then gently took Jemma's right wrist and started to heal her of all her injuries. Rya didn't care that Jemma said she was going to be punished if she got healed. Rya's only intention was to make Jemma whole again and if she got the chance. She would return all the pain that Jemma's husband has caused her.

Jemma was surprised that Rya took her arm and on instinct she wanted to pull away, but then all the terrible pain and bruising started to fade away. She could focus again and the constant throbbing and pain she felt in her body was gone.

She watched as Rya used magic to heal her and when her mind cleared up she looked into Rya's azure eyes and she could tell that this woman was someone who truly cared about her well being.

A moment after Jemma was healed, she took felt the warm of Rya's Mana flowing into her. She didn't know exactly what it was but she could feel a shiver running down her spine as Rya's Mana entered her mana vein and then it flowed through her mage veins, which made the hairs on her body stand up.

She felt alive like never before as this foreign power flowed through her. This was an experience she had never thought possible. It was so overwhelming, so exhirating, so incredible, that she could only close her eyes and bask in the euphoric sensation of her lightning magic coming to life.

Soon, her palm began the glow just like her sister's but it was brighter. Everyone watch as a flickering blue sphere materialized above her open palm, and then, with a flick of her fingers, it burst into a million tiny lightning bolts that danced around her hand and arm.

"That is... amazing..." Jemma muttered, staring at her newly awakened lightning magic.

Rya turned to Aric again, "She's the oddball mage compared to your other daughters. She is a Elite level Lightning Mage," the Dark Elf said as she released her grip from Jemma's wrist, but the electricity arcing between her fingers and hand for ten seconds before it dissipated.

Aric was going through a existential crisis. He's sold off his daughters and two of them had uncommon elements. How did he not realize it? Of all the times he curse the fates for giving him rotten hands and he had two daughters with—

'W-Wait!? What did she mean by Jemma being the oddball out of—'

Aric's train of thought was cut off when Rya took Eleanora's left hand and a softball sized amount of swirling wind appeared above her palm. Eleanora's her eyes were wide open and her mouth agape as a swirling orb of air appeared above her open palm.

Aric gritted his teeth, 'So, Eleanora is just like Marcus. Wind Mages are common as they—' The Duke couldn't finish his thought when Rya grabbed Eleanora's other wrist and a water ball twice the size of her fist appeared over her other hand.

Eleanora couldn't believe what she was seeing, "I'm a multi-elemental mage? A water and wind elementalist?"

The water and wind spheres hovered over her palms before Rya released her grip on Eleanora's wrist. The te 20-year-old's eyes were still wide as the two spheres of magic floated over her palms before the disappeared.

Rya looked over at the Duke again."She's a Elite multi-elemental mage. The fourth one in all of Fiafyr."

Aric couldn't believe it how one of his daughters was a rare mage. He wanted to scream but he kept his cool.

'Th-This can't be right! She must be pying a trick on me! B-But the incantation was only following their hands. How didn't I—'

Again Aric's thoughts were cut off as Rya made her way towards the two youngest daughters.

Lydia looked up at Rya when she reached her and her little sister. The Dark Elf gave her a comforting smile and then she held her hand out towards her.

Lydia hesitantly held her hand out, but when she did, Rya took her wrist gently and then.

  *Swoosh...*

A chunk of ice the size of a softball appeared above her palm and slowly hovered above her hand.

"Lydia's a Elite Ice Mage," Rya said before she let go of her wrist and then the ice hovered above her palm before it melted into water.

Aric stood there defeated as the Dark Elf went to his st daughter and saw Cra with a water ball and wind sphere above her palms.

"Cra is a Elite Water and Wind Mage," Rya said simply and Cra's magic hovered before she let it go.

Cra showed the most excitement out of all the Revelia daughters while the other for were more dumbfounded than anything. They had the ability to do things only few mages could ever do.

The Duke couldn't say anything as he watched his youngest daughter jump for joy and hug the Dark Elf, "Thank you so much!"

Aric's mind was a complete mess. He saw how all the dies were reacting and how his daughter was jumping for joy and the other were looking at the Dark Elf with awe in their eyes. While others were looking at him as if he was an idiot.

'Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! She's turning all these women against me!'

Aric was losing it and his pride was taking a big hit. He thought the day his assassin turned on him was the worst day of his life and the death of his son was the second. If he didn't do something soon, he had a feeling that this would become the third.

Baroness Ysandra Fairchild along with her sister quietly approached the Queen from behind. Ysandra opened her fan and shielded her mouth so no one could read her lips.

"My Queen... We need to get the Lydia and Cra away from their parents. They sold off their oldest daughter and we have a feeling they are going to sell the other two as well."

Rianna couldn't agree more, "I'm assuming you two want to take them up to your prestigious Fairchild's Arcane Institute of Magic in the Frostweald Domain?" she asked while gncing over at the two Fairchilds.

"It would be to their benefit to get some distance from their parents. The seclusion in the Whispering Peaks by the academy in Thornhold city is the best pce for them. They shouldn't have to worry about their parents coming for them and they can focus on becoming mages. Once they achieve mastery in their elements is only when they don't have to worry about them anymore," Headmaster Saffron Fairchild stated as she gnced over at the two girls.

"I will make sure to bring all my nieces back to the pace today. I feel that they deserve a warmth and loving home rather than a cold empty one," the Queen stated and the two Fairchilds agreed with her.

Yuliana who was still standing by the Queen when the Baroness Ysandra spoke about taking Lydia and Cra away and getting them away from their parents couldn't help but feel sorry for the three oldest.

"Is there nothing more you can do for the three oldest Revelia daughters?... They need a loving home too..."

The Queen wanted to agree the the Wood Elf, but they weren't a part of the Fiafyrian Court ever since they were married off to Foreign Kingdoms.

"Sadly, they aren't Fiafyrian Nobles, Princess Yuliana. And even if we could get a divorce, these kingdoms demands for breaking a contract of marriage will become a hefty sum once word of their Mana and Mage Veins spreads," Baroness Ysandra Fairchild jumped in.

Rianna was going to agree with her friend at first but then she saw Rya gnce over there way after hugging Cra. She gave them a mischievous look and looked like she whispered something.

Rianna was confused until Yuliana reyed Rya message, "She asked if it was legal for women to divorce?"

Rianna, Ysandra, and Saffron looked back at Rya who was 60 ft away from them waiting for the answer.

'What is her pn?' Rianna thought as her curiosity was piqued.

"Women are allowed to divorce their husbands, but it has to be the man who initiates the divorce. So the husband has to have a good reason to break the marriage contract, and it can't be anything trivial," Rianna whispered back. Rya gave the a smirk before her face became serious when turning back to Aric who didn't know what to do.

Rianna open her fan to cover her smile, "Do you know what she has pnned?" The Queen asked softly to the three women next to her.

Saffron Fairchild could only shake her, while Ysandra Fairchild was thinking up all the possibilities of what Rya could do.

"I'm not sure. But whatever it is, knowing your future daughter-in-w, I don't think it will end well for the Duke," Saffron whispered as she took a sip of her drink.

The four watched as Rya looked like she was about to continue her onsught on Aric. She still hasn't addressed the lies about her murdering Marcus and they wonder how she was going to combat that one as well.

"Go get him, Rya. He's scum and deserves it," Queen Rianna whispered behind her fan. Rya heard her and gave her a little sign, indicating that she knew what the queen said.
