Chapter 16

  “Ouch,” Eurig said after falling.

  “You alright?” Akli asked.

Eurig, Otie thought. That limousine… “Hah!” Running up to them, Horo has a stunned face.

  Jaromir? Horo thunk.

Otie flew up into the air, his leg blurred, as if all was still a whip like sound cut through the air. In a ready position, Akli brought his fists up, come on… Otie’s foot pointed to the sky, still hanging in the air, Akli bothered not with sidestepping; for all he needed to do was turn his neck to dodge the flying kick. Landing and then twisted to face the pivoted mayor ready to jab, was Otie, looking as if he were about to break-dance. Switching up, he stood upon his hands rotating his hips into a back spin kick.

“Wait! Oti, I slipped, I fell on my own… That car… I mean I was wrong!” Eurig reached. Zap, it was too late, Otie’s leg struck Akli’s head.

“You say something?” Otie asked Eurig. Smoke like energy vaped off Otie’s shin and Akli’s head.

“Brat, so you wanted it like that?” Akli said with veins pulsing, blood rushing up his neck. His jaw clenched with irritance, Horo was too late to stop Akli’s movements. With a smile Akli addressed Otie. “So that’s how you wanted to reunite.”

“Huh?” Have I met him before? Otie thought as he gathered a better look of Akli. After getting everything settled, Horo finally introduced who the man Akli was.

“This is Saint Akli Graham, the future Prime Regent one day! Please don’t tell me you don’t know who your district mayor is.”

  “Hahaha, I’m Akli.”

Akli… Otie contemplated. Maybe… He’s the one. Once all was settled the boys apologized and bowed.

“Haha, it’s all right, please raise your heads,” Akli said. “Still, what a terrible story, dropping off a poor injured dog.”

“I’ll check all our limousine owners…”

“Hmm, now that I think about it, you two go to the Ontiganel regional academy. Hey Horo, that’s the same one we went to.”

The boys paused with drooly eyes. “Who the fuck are you?” They said simultaneously.

“Hahaha, this is Eurig, and he’ll be the Bishop of Animals one day,” Otie announced.

“Hey, that was no joke! This is your future—” Akli cut off Horo.

“Horo! Bishop of Animals… Nice idea!,” Akli said with grandeur. “May need to work on the name,” he whispered. The boys froze, unsure why this man was taking them seriously. “You’ll surely have a good program. So tell me.”

Eurig blushed, “uh, less animal breeding, and abolishment of health insurance.”

Otie began to nod with respect. “Mm, mm.”

“Hm, maybe I should write down your names.” Akli said.

“Quite the impressive dude,” Eurig said.

“Why? He just asked a bunch of questions,” Otie whined.

“I felt like there was some kind of connection,” Eurig added.

  “Nonsense!”

Shadowed by darkness, within the dimness of his limousine. “Horo-chi, it was a great time, no? The street life, hehehe! How long has it been since we got our arses left in the dirt? Ages!”

“Indeed,” Horo said with cold clarity. That clearly was Jaromir! How come he didn’t recognize us? Could it be…

“Tell me, Horo, how did you know where they came from?”

“Because, it's under our jurisdiction. Those two are the last to graduate from the academy.”

“Hmm, Ayihcah, that’s what he said?” Akli asked.

“Damn, why do I feel like you're about to say something dumb.”

“Well, I just feel like if Fart had a son, he’d be just as old as him. Hah! As if, that could never be. Never…”
