Yet another Terrible Tale for Tiny Trolls. Enjoy!

November’s stories are all going to be very short. After all, it’s National Novel Writing Month, which I participate in each year.

Enjoy!

TERRIBLE TALES FOR TINY TROLLS – CREEPY BEAUTY

Once upon a time, Bethelda the Troll King’s Daughter was happily smashing her way through the forest, picking up trees and throwing them high into the air and juggling boulders when she came to a castle that was all covered up with vines. It was a horribly ugly castle but Bethelda decided that it would be fun for a few minutes to go inside and look around.

She smashed her way through the gate of the castle and looked around. Inside it was much prettier because there were weeds everywhere and lots of rocks and even a few trees. Still, she knew that there was something she could do to make it all much prettier, so she ripped the trees out of the ground and threw rocks through all the windows. Then she thought the place was much nicer. Whoever owned the castle would be very happy that Bethelda had helped out.

Next she smashed open the front door of the castle, being very careful to make sure that each hinge was sufficiently demolished, and went inside. She had a lot of fun smashing windows and furniture and what not. What made it even more fun was that all of the people she met were fast asleep. How surprised they would be when they all woke up and saw the improvements that Bethelda had made everywhere!

Finally she made her way to the middle of the castle. There she found a girl asleep in a great big bed with curtains and lots of pillows. There was a spinning wheel in the corner. Bethelda ate the spinning wheel, and then belched daintily, causing the bed to rattle on the floor and making the windows break. She was a princess, after all.

The girl on the bed was terribly ugly. Her hair was long and completely clean, with no mold or sticks or bugs or anything. Her skin was pale and smooth, with no warts or blemishes or even any scars. This was obviously a little girl who had never had fun in her entire life. She was asleep like every other person in the castle.

Bethelda decided that this horribly ugly little girl, like everything else in the castle, needed some improvements. She decided right then and there to give the sleeping little girl a makeover. She went back outside, found some mud and some rocks and some sticks and bugs and even some mold. She went back into the castle, happy that she could even make an ugly little girl more beautiful.

She spread the mud on the girl’s face and stuck some bugs into the mud. She added some sticks and mold to the little girl’s hair, and stuck rocks to her skin with more mud. Then for good measure she smashed the little girl’s bed into a pile of rocks and pillows. Then everything looked just right and Bethelda was very proud of herself.

She was about to go back into the other parts of the castle to see if there was anything else she could smash into beauty when she heard a voice. It was a man’s voice, so awful and screeching it almost made her jump out of her skin.

“Who has dared trespass onto this sacred ground?” the man’s voice shouted.

Bethelda decided she didn’t want to meet the scary man so she hid underneath the bed in the sleeping girl’s room.

Unfortunately that was the very room that the scary man went into. He opened the door and came through, all hideous and misshapen, with the same kind of smooth skin and clean hair that the sleeping little girl had suffered from. He was even wearing clothes that looked like they had never even been smashed between any rocks.

The man looked at the sleeping little girl and gasped. “My beauty!” he cried out. “What have they done to you!” Then he rushed over to the little girl and looked down at her. He started to cry, which made Bethelda pretty happy because at least it was a normal sound. Then he started shouting and screaming, which made Bethelda even happier.

Finally the man began to calm down. Then he said, “My poor sleeping beauty. I know that I’m supposed to kiss you to wake you up and break the curse that has fallen upon this unfortunate place. But sadly I cannot bring myself to press my lips upon anything so horrifically ugly.” This last of course offended poor Bethelda to no end, but she decided to stay quiet.

“Farewell, my former lovely. There are plenty of other maidens out there that I can charm into marrying me!” With that, the ugly man left.

Bethelda crawled out from under the bed, feeling very happy. After all, any prince who would never kiss a girl as pretty as the sleeping girl in the bed was definitely not worth waking up for.

Bethelda smashed her way out of the castle and went back to the troll king’s own palace under the graveyard, feeling happy that everyone would live happily ever after, even if they were all asleep.

Yeah, I offer these stories for free. But you can still give me money for them if you like. It's not like I'm gonna complain. Just click on the friendly bunny.
