CrunchyPosted 1 year, 7 months ago., on Thursday, July 10th, 2008, at 3:24 pm California continues to burn. Last time I checked, there were over 1,500 wildfires burning in the state, almost all of them in Northern California. As a result, the air quality in Sacramento, already bearing the brunt of a nasty heat wave (100+ degree temperatures all week), is, well, crunchy. With a tangy mesquite zip. I took this picture earlier today with my cell phone: ![]() You can’t really see it very well, but the world is very hazy. The sun is invisible beyond the smoke, but we know it’s there by the extreme heat and the faint reddish tinge that everything has taken on. I’ve been working at home all week, going outside only when I absolutely have to, and sitting right next to my air purifier and with my nebulizer at hand. Seriously. It’s like walking into a Weber grill out there. One Response to “Crunchy”Leave a Reply |

Not sure what part of Sacramento you’re in, but that looks very similar to the view from my apartment. I’m at work in Davis right now and when I look outside, the sky appears like it does just before a rain. But I know there’s no rain coming, that’s all smoke.
I have my fingers crossed that it’ll be over soon and I can go back to breathing normally. Especially since I quit smoking almost two months ago.
