You should read this bookPosted 2 years, 3 months ago., on Thursday, April 10th, 2008, at 1:54 pm I’m just taking a brief break from work to recommend to you all, in the strongest possible terms, that you read Nobody Gets the Girl by James Maxey. It’s a fine little example of the superhero genre in novel form, with some brilliantly funny writing and some nicely poignant moments. While not the most "important" work of fiction out there, it’s definitely enjoyable, and well worth your time and attention. Okay, now back to work for me. 3 Responses to “You should read this book”Leave a Reply |

If you like superhero and comics-genre prose novels, you will probably also enjoy Mur Lafferty’s “Playing For Keeps” and, at the risk of being a shameless self-promoter, my own “Brave Men Run – A Novel of the Sovereign Era.”
If you’re not ready to lay down the cash, both books are also available to listen to as free podcast novels at Podiobooks.com. You can also download e-books from Mur’s site and mine. Mur’s is free, mine costs whatever you think it’s worth!
I hope you enjoy them!
I actually listened to Brave Men Run, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Having grown up in the 80′s myself, it struck a number of nostalgic notes for me.
Excellent! I glad you liked it. Look out for the follow-up, “Pilgrimage,” later this year… and give “Playing For Keeps” a try!
